This function enables you to hide any folder in a second no matter how big it is. SuperEncryptor provides a hidden folder with ternary protections to enhance the security. SuperEncryptor has the following advantages in hiding folders or adding password protection to folders: 1.When you click on Tools -> Folder Options -> choose "Show hidden files and folders" option in Windows Explorer, the hidden folders are invisible. 2. Hidden folders are invisible under the Windows safe mode. It is something not available in most of the similar software (such as the famous Folder Guard, Iprotect, etc) 3. With "dir /ah" command under pure DOS, the hidden folders are still invisible. It is also something not available in most of the similar software. 4. This function can be used on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP platforms.
Of course, the methods of hiding or password-protecting folders are not infallible. So they cannot provide you the safest protection. As to very important confidential files, it is suggested that you directly operate on the files with "Encrypt Object", "Encrypt into Host File" or "Encrypt to SDX".
The hidden folders all display in the "List box of hidden folders". If you want to show them, click on one folder, then click "Unhide Folder" button on the left side.
NOTICE: If you want to reinstall the operating system, please unhide hidden folders first. And after reinstalling hide them again. Or you can enable "Backup Information Files" first and then after reinstalling, enable "Restore Information Files".

"Password-Protect Folder" means protecting your secret folder with password. Choose a folder you wish to protect in Folder Explorer in the lower right corner, and then you will find "Password-Protect Folder" button on the left side turns from gray to black, click it, a password input box will come up, input the same password twice, and click OK. "Lock Folder" makes a folder unable to be deleted, renamed or copied by others. For example, when you try to delete the locked folder C:\abc, system will indicate "The folder C:\abc is being used!" When you enter the locked folder, you can’t see any files or subfolders other than a file named "Add Scheduled Task". You can disable this function with "Unlock Folder". Be careful that you can not lock an password-protected folder. If you mistakenly delete an encrypted folder, please look at "Frequently Asked Questions". Pay attention that after using the "Lock Folder" function for the first time, you should restart or logout Windows to take effect.
Recover Folder Urgently
This function allows you to recover a folder urgently if it cannot be unhidden or unprotected for various reasons, for example, you forget the password or reinstall the operating system without backuping information files. When you click "Do Not Show Hidden Files" button, all files and folders with hidden attribute (including those not hidden by SuperEncryptor) on the hard disk can not be shown normally. Even if you select "Show hidden files and folders" in "Folder Options" in Windows Explorer, they are still invisible. Thus, the folders hidden or password-Protected by SuperEncryptor get more protection. It is a switch button, with a click it will turn into "Show Hidden Files" button; with another click it turns into "Do Not Show Hidden Files" button again.
The system folders such as Windows, Desktop, My Documents and the folder containing SuperEncryptor are not allowed to be disguised, hidden or password-Protected. Therefore, when you select such folders, the buttons on the left side are gray.
Because we password-Protect/hide folders in a special way, it will take a little more time (one to tens of seconds) to password-protect/hide a partition for the first time. The password-protecting/hiding speed almost has nothing to do with the quantity or size of the files in the folder, but related to the hardware disposal such as CPU, Capacity of RAM, especially speed of the hard disk. So, defragging disk fragments can greatly increase the password-protecting/hiding speed. To password-protect/hide folders on a flash disk is slower than on a hard disk. But after the first time, it will be very fast (only a second) to password-protect folders or open protected folders.
